Working with the Egyptian and U.S. Standardization Systems

On June 3, AmCham/TRAC sponsored a panel discussion on standards and witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality (EOS) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). To show the high level of US support, the US Ambassador Margaret Scoby attended the ceremony, which was covered extensively by the media. After the signing ceremony, experts from EOS, ANSI, the National Institute of Standardization and Technology (NIST) and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) discussed the role of their respective organizations, to help better acquaint the private sector with the two standardizations systems and seek ways to make the systems more effective in promoting mutual trade interests.
