Topic: “Panel Discussion on the Food Safety Agency”
This Panel Discussion was held to raise public awareness on a new law that will centralize Egypt’s food safety efforts into a Food Safety Agency. With the new law, the Egyptian government hopes to meet its dual goal of increasing the quality and international competitiveness of Egypt’s food industry. The panel brought together food industry executives, key government officials and consumer representatives to debate the function, effectiveness and necessity of a food safety agency.
